Site of fatal train crash near Moorpark

Urgent Prayers for my wife's family.

Please keep my wife's family in your prayers. The man hit here is related to my wife. He has a wife and a daughter and a son. I just wanted to get this prayer request out as soon as possible. It's hard enough for anyone to have to go through something like this. Please pray that God will comfort them and help them all through all this.
Thank you.

Ventura County firefighters check for additional victims after a westbound Amtrak trian collided with a pickup truck Monday between Moorpark and Somis. The driver of the truck died on scene.

A 36-year-old Ventura sales representative on his way to see a client was killed Monday when he drove in front of an Amtrak train at an unguarded track crossing near Moorpark.

Joseph Tillery was driving north across the tracks that parallel Highway 118 near Hitch Boulevard about 10:20 a.m. when a westbound train broadsided his pickup truck and pushed it about a quarter-mile, said Capt. Cliff Williams of the California Highway Patrol’s Moorpark office.

Tillery was a sales representative for Ventura Steel Inc. and was going to visit some clients, said his mother-in-law, Sharon Barker. Tillery and his wife, Brandi, had a 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son.

“Joe,” as most people knew him, was a fun-loving guy who everyone instantly liked, Barker said. “He had the most incredible smile,” she said. “Everyone loved him.”

Williams said a CHP officer was working at the nearby truck weigh station when he heard the crash and first reported it.
